Exhibition Information

The artists are busy interviewing the soldiers’ families and painting the soldiers for the next two years. As exhibition venues are confirmed, they will be listed here so you can watch for the exhibit in your home province.

Included in the Project Heroes™ exhibitions are:

• 14″ x 18″ individual portraits of each of the fallen soldiers. With quality hardwood frames, these portraits will be approximately 21″ x 24″ total size.

• There will be stories, poems and other writings by the fallen, as well as many family photos of each of the soldiers. These have been obtained from the families and will be displayed in hard copy and electronic format on 10 – 12 screens. These very personal items will help Canadians learn more about each of our country’s heroes.

• Three 6′ x 9′ triptychs have been created. One commemorates the wounded, another commemorates the families of the fallen, and one commemorates serving soldiers and veterans. These help the artists tell the ‘whole story’ about everyone who has sacrificed as a result of the Afghanistan War. These are gallery wrapped with finished painted edges.

• Many 16 x 20″ commemorative paintings include scenes in Afghanistan, still life paintings of soldiers’ gear, and other images. Prints of these will be available as collectibles from the exhibitions. The originals will be framed in quality hardwood frames, bringing the display size to 22″ x 26″.

• At each exhibition location there will be a 7.5′ – 10′ tree at or near the entrance that features a customized yellow ribbon for each of the fallen soldiers. Smaller replicas of these ribbons will be available as collectibles.

• Throughout the exhibition there will be ‘talking’ mannequins that are wearing military uniforms. They will be saying recorded quotes from many of the fallen soldiers. This will help people attending the exhibition feel as if they are walking among the soldiers.
